Coming Soon - New Range of Products & New Website
In the pipeline for 2010 - we are happy to be working with Mike from Moof to work on an upgrade of our website. So far, the website has been self-designed entirely using iWeb. MPJ clients can look forward to new features such as PayPal & Shopping cart.
We are also looking to increasing our range of products to include Maternity and Nursing Wear, and Gift Hampers in collaboration with Greeting Cuts.
As I await with great anticipation the impending birth of my second baby, I look forward excitedly too to the re-birth of the Mon Petit Jardin website. As I source for products practical to my second pregnancy and nursing experience, I look forward to sharing these great finds with our clients. As we’ve always claimed - “we only sell what we want for ourselves”!

Thank you for your support of MPJ this past year!
The MPJ team would like to thank everyone who has given us their support this past year. 2009 has seen a growth in our client base, thanks to the many referrals from mummies to their friends. We have also had many clients who have found the Mon Petit Jardin nursing poncho so handy that their end up buying more as presents for other friends who have just given birth! Thank you also for the mummies who have taken the time to pen us such wonderful testimonials of our product. Many thanks too the the parents who have patiently waited for the Peek-A-Boo bags to arrive. This was our first time dealing with a pre-order consignment and it has provided us with many valuable lessons!
The beginning of 2010 is a time for all of us at MPJ to set new goals and direction. We are in the process of developing a new website, complete with shopping cart and online payment options. We are torn between devoting our time entirely to expanding our range of nursing ponchos or increasing our range of products by bringing in great mummy and baby products from overseas for our clients, such as the Bella Materna & Glamourmom nursing tops and Buds Everyday Organics. December 2009 Promotion - Preparing for the COLD
The school holidays are here and most families have planned vacations to countries with cold climate. Coming back from my own trips recently, I discovered an excellent alternative use for the Mon Petit Jardin Nursing Ponchos - they make excellent plane blankets! I use the airline blanket to cover my legs but slip the ponchos over my shoulders for coverage that does not slip off while I doze on the plane. I slip one over Sean too while he naps on the plane and I save myself the trouble of waking up ever so often just to make sure his blanket has not slipped off while he tossed and turned. We have also made the ponchos in junior sizes for the little ones!
I have also realised that the Spandex Jersey Range of ponchos for mums nursing while travelling in cold climates. The thicker material and the poncho design of all-round coverage ensures that baby is kept snug and warm while you nurse on the bus, in the train, in the park, at the roadside cafe ... well, practically anywhere!
Yet another use I’ve discovered for the classic Peony poncho is to slip it over my swimming costume before going down to the pool. The cotton knit material works like a towel which I slip over my wet swimsuit and serves as the adult version of the “towcho” without the hood. I am constantly amazed at the versatility of the Mon Petit Jardin poncho!

We have increased our range of products in our online store. True to our philosophy of only selling what we want for ourselves, Elaine and I have been painstakingly putting together products that we have tried out ourselves (mostly on Sean) and loved.
MPJ Nursing Ponchos- NEW Colours
Our very own flagship product is the Mon Petit Jardin nursing poncho. Apart from Peony which is a 100% cotton fabric, we have finally found some new luxuriously soft yet breathable fabric that we deemed perfect for our latest range of MPJ nursing ponchos. We got our very first batch done and our friend Jolene can be seen wearing Anthracite on the right to breastfeed her newborn Claudia. We are accepting orders now. Towcho
My first batch of stock has arrived! Sean, by the way, modeled his towcho happily for us on the right. We initially thought we’d only use it poolside, after his swim sessions, but we’ve discovered that the towcho can be conveniently thrown over Sean after a shower, and the hood comes in handy when we trail after him to dry his hair! New Mum & Baby Gift Pack
A few good friends recently delivered their first, second or third child and I was busy sourcing for thoughtful gifts that will actually be used and which come in nice packagings. We are in the process of putting together a gift pack that comes in an environmentally friendly bag that can be reused. It will be filled with thoughtful products like our MPJ nursing ponchos (one for wearing while the other is in the wash) and a range of natural and organic products for both mum and baby.

It started with my recent commitment to reduce my carbon footprint, which reignited my desire to rekindle this online store which has lain dormant for months. I’m currently in the process of revamping the site and sourcing for new products to bring in. I’m seriously contemplating saying goodbye to the easy to upload iWeb and having a professional do up a site complete with shopping cart and all. Towcho
I loved the towchos the moment I saw a picture of them. It’s such a practical and great idea! No more worries of the towel slipping off Sean as he makes his way from the pool back home. The brainchild of Pauline Walton, the Towcho Company was born out of a mother’s desire to keep her water-loving children warm and dry.
Going Natural
Because of the rampant cases of Hand Foot Mouth disease in the past few months, Sean has been kept away from the ball room of our favourite Korean bbq restaurant. We’ll be going on a holiday trip to Hong Kong next week, and I’ll definitely be packing my Buds for Baby Rinse Free Cleanser! Think natural ingredient (hence safe if accidentally consumed), this ultra-mild cleanser can be pumped directly on the child’s hands to remove oil, grease and dirt while removing any harmful bacteria. Very convenient while travelling.

Time flies
It’s been almost a year since I last updated this site and as you can see from the photo below, Sean is a big boy now who’s turning 3 in Jan 2008.
I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the many mummies who have been supporting us this past year.
All my time and energy had been spent in the running of the family dental clinic, but we can always depend on a new wave of new mummies to take over. It’s amazing what we can achieve during the three months of maternity leave confinement.
I’m hence proud to share that a close friend, Su Ling, has created a new product that’ll start a new round of baby wearing craze. Do check out her Pupsik Baby Pouch Carrier at www.pupsikstudio.com!

About Us
Hello and welcome to Mon Petit Jardin. In this little piece of garden, you’ll find a modern-day cottage industry founded by a working mother who’s caught a bout of entrepreneurial seizure, the onset of which was caused by months of confinement in the house, with her trusty iBook and broadband connection as the only source of contact with the outside world.
Being first-time parents, Weng Cheu and I are constantly searching for the most natural way to bring up Sean and we realised that following our instincts was one of the best advice we could give ourselves.
The online store my sister, Elaine and I have set up here will be for products specially sourced or created to provide you with what you’d need to bring your child up as naturally as possible.
Tips from a-z consists of little shortcuts we’ve discovered along the way in handling issues that crop up regarding Sean. They reek of the philosophy we try to uphold, but may work for you too.
Tried and tested consists of a listing of all the products or websites that I have found useful in the process of bringing up Sean. In it, I list all the products I have tried and tested which have worked very well with Sean or on myself.
I’ve taken the liberty to attach Sean’s blog to the site too, so you can share in our little one’s growth and get to know us a little better.
